ABOUT NONOT LAB EXHIBITION I.
On July 3, the first of three multidisciplinary exhibitions for young visual art opens in Frankfurt’s Bahnhofsviertel. As a laboratory space, it connects over 20 local and connected artists from various disciplines shaping subcultures through (audio)visual practices. Rooted in music, fashion, and design, it brings together established and self-taught artists often unseen in Frankfurt’s cultural landscape. The space focuses on the future—offering diverse perspectives and a platform for exchange and inspiration.
ABOUT NONOT LAB
NONOT LAB is a format that brings together artists, designers, and like-minded individuals to explore new techniques, perspectives and ideas. Our focus is on fostering creativity, encouraging experimentation and providing a platform for up-and-coming artists and designers to share their knowledge and experience.
ABOUT NONOT STUDIO
NONOT STUDIO is a creative studio in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, that works with international clients and on self-initiated projects. Inspired by a constant exploration of contemporary culture, technology, and everyday life, the studio aims to create statements, attitudes, and experiences beyond traditional design categories.
ABOUT JULIA RAU
Julia Rau lives in Frankfurt/Main. After studying Business Administration, Journalism, and Fashion Management, she works for several TV channels, including ARTE, NDR, WDR, and 3sat. Since 2019, she has lectured at the Akademie Mode & Design Hamburg. With projects in cultural institutions and third places, her work is deeply rooted in the world of fashion, art, and design.
ABOUT ELECTRICITY
Energy is everywhere. In the circuitry of global culture, every great city generates creative power that has the potential to light up our world. Electricity is a new channel for the arts that plugs directly into culturally charged cities around the globe and transmits their creative output one after another through a series of exhibitions and accompanying books, serving as an entry point to a new space that is independent of national boundaries, buzzing with the excitement of new impulses, diversity and collective energies, and a hub for us all to plug into and draw power from.
ABOUT ELECTRICITY BOOK
The current edition taps into the vibrant cultural zeitgeist of Cape Town, South Africa, and channels the creative output of a group of photographers, fashion designers, filmmakers, DJs, music producers and writers who are making this city shine. While every city has its own power, this is not a story about them and us. We are them and they are us. At a time when national borders no longer limit our hopes and our dreams, nor our ability to identify, we find we are all parts of the same force that keeps our collective imagination charged.
